What is the Idaho application process for Persons with Disabilities License Plates and Placards?
You can get the Application for Disability License Plates and Placards (Form ITD 3392) by going to your nearest Idaho Transportation Office or printing the document online.
There is a $25 fee only for obtaining Disability License Plates. This fee will be billed to you after providing your MasterCard or Visa information on the application.
You and your qualified physician just need to complete and sign the application with all necessary information. Once you finish this quick application, you will need to mail or fax it to:

How long are Disability License Plates and Placards Valid in Idaho?
Depending on the handicap parking permit, temporary disability or permanent disability, the validity varies.
- Temporary Disability: valid for 1-6 months
- Permanent Disability: valid for 6+ months
Disability License Plates and Placards need to be renewed before the expiration date listed on the plate or placard. Disability Plates have a renewal fee of $15.

Are there Idaho Disabled Veteran Plates?
Disabled Veteran Plates are accessible to any Idaho resident veteran with a 100% service-connected disability. You will find out if you’re eligible and request a Disabled Veteran Plate Eligibility Letter from the Veterans Administration (VA) Regional Office in Boise, Idaho.

Once you receive the eligibility documentation, you may then send it to the Idaho Transportation department with the Military License Plate Application via mail or fax.
There is no fee required to receive the Disabled Veteran Plate.
After experiencing the benefits of the Idaho Disabled Veteran Plate, you need to renew the plate before the expiration date listed. Similarly, you can appreciate the benefits of Social Security Disability after filing a claim.
Can I report Handicap Parking Abuse?
Disappointingly, there are instances where Handicap Parking spaces, plates, and placards are taken advantage of by those who don’t need have impairments.
If you happen to see someone speedily moving from an empty car in a Handicap space, there’s a chance they shouldn’t park there.
Misuse of handicap parking permits and spaces can result in a fine of up to $100. If you notice misuse of these spaces, notify local authorities immediately describing the incident witnessed.
